Raymond L. McKee, 84, of Royma Road, Corning, Ohio passed away at 12:10 a.m. Sunday, February 7, 2010, at Mount Carmel East Hospital, Columbus, Ohio, after a brief illness.

He was born November 24, 1925, in West Manchester, Ohio, the son of Clarence and Sadie (Poffenberger) McKee. Raymond grew up on the family farm in Preble County where he worked many years with his parents, brothers, sisters, and neighbors. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was part of the V-12 Program. He graduated from Oberlin College, and was retired from the Defense Construction Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio, where he had worked as a procurement supervisor.
Raymond is survived by five sons and their spouses, Raymond A. (Connie) McKee of Cardington, Ohio, John McKee of Dresden, Ohio, Bill (Kelley) McKee of Zanesville, Ohio, Bob (Jackie) McKee of Sunnyvale, California, and Tim (Cathy) McKee of Dover, New Hampshire: one sister, Vera Burns of Richmond Indiana: five brothers, Lowell McKee, Donald McKee, and Loren (Donna) McKee, all of West Alexandria, Ohio, Virgil (Barbara) McKee of Columbus, Ohio and Larry McKee of Eaton, Ohio: 15 grandchildren: eight great-grandchildren: a special nephew, Mike McKee of Hilliard, Ohio: a son-in-law, Chris Burke of Grove City, Ohio: and a special friend, Rick Crooks od Crooksville, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents: his wife, Mary Jane (Williams) McKee, who died in 2002: his daughter, Margaret Burke: his son, David McKee: his grandson, Conner McKee: one sister, Mary Bergeron: and two brothers, Merrill and Mervin McKee.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Goebel Funeral Home,36 North Buckeye Street, Crooksville, Ohio, with Pastor Larry Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery, Portersville, Ohio, with full military honors.
